A CISM intervention is a highly effective tool used by organizations to
provide immediate psychological aid and to promote stability, health and
growth in the aftermath of a workplace or community trauma.

techniques help one to organize thoughts and feelings about events,
facilitate normalization of reactions, reduce preoccupation with the
events, enhance insight, promote exploration of meaning in the event
and provide stress management education.

has shown that people who talk about a critical or traumatic incident
generally eat better, sleep better, remain healthier, work better, and
have less disruptions in their lives.
